When it comes to choosing an event organiser that can be relied on to create an event to remember for all the right reasons, these are some of the pre-requisites we believe you should bear in mind:
Is your event organiser punctual? Does he/she stick to small, seemingly 'insignificant' deadlines? If he or she can't keep time on the little things, be wary of how smoothly your event will run on the day. Time-keeping is imperative to good event planning and execution.
Attention to Detail
How well does your event planner listen? Does he/she take notes while you're speaking? How well do they interpret the brief? Keep an eye on how organised they appear to be (or not be!)
What previous conferences, seminars or corporate events has your organiser put together and hosted in the past? Ask to see their portfolio and for recommendations. You'll quickly be able to ascertain whether or not this is someone in whom you can put your trust to deliver an outstanding result or not, as the work usually speaks for itself.
Is your event coordinator affiliated to credible professional bodies such as SAACI (South African Association for the Conference Industry)? Make sure you avoid unwarranted risks by working with accredited service providers who are reputable within the industry.
